Crumbs – Levi Morrow

All that we had is gone
It’s dust and ashes now
Let’s burn it anyway
Like we always do with our monsters

From nothing to dust and ashes to embers
We put our leaven in the fire in the world
The blackened singe on the fringe of freedom
Matsah always breaks and burns
Redemption always has crumbs

Levi Morrow lives with his wife and two daughters. He has an MA from Tel Aviv University in Jewish Philosophy, which he teaches in a variety of institutions. He writes poetry in both English and Hebrew, and translates contemporary Israeli poetry into English in his spare time.
